Complementary Colour Collage!

Nothing is better than a well executed collage.

Well done Year 3s!

Year 5 and 6 work

Gosh, it has been a while since I have posted any of the Year 5 and 6 art pieces. I must admit, I have not been on top of photographing student art work in the last couple of months. Here are a few of the creations coming out of the art room.

Prep Paper Bag Homes

Secret doors, flower pots and tiny windows, Oh My!
I wish I had more pictures to show, but sadly I got caught in the moment... mostly of trying to staple roofs to paper bags.

Preps used scrap paper, donated stickers and old sequences to make these creative homes. We used old newspaper and scraps to add volume to our homes.

A special thanks to the mum for donating these paper bags!

2014 Elwood Primary Art Show

On Thursday night, Elwood Primary hosted its biennial art show!!! It was such a great night and I was overwhelmed and grateful for the amount of students and families who came to celebrate the visual arts program. The atmosphere was amazing as kids proudly showed off their art pieces to their family and friends. It made me feel very lucky to teach at a school that has such a wonderful and supportive community of parents and staff.  There were loads of conversations, laughs and smiles from everyone and I think that everyone had a great time. Thank you everyone who helped make this years Art Show a spectacular event.

I would like to say a special thank you to Bec Long for setting up a “safari” themed art activity table. I don’t think she stopped all night, and it was such a big hit with the kids.

YAY for the Visual Arts Program at Elwood!

There are more photos, but I couldn't fit them all in!!!
