Dozens of rolls of tape later... Year 4 Sculptures!

This was a 9 class project and I must admit there were a few bumps in the road but it is all worth it in the end because the kids love their creations. I must also add that I think that this batch of sculptures are the best yet to come out of the art room!

Year 4s looked at art work based on surrealism, cubism, pop art and characters. Students took 2 classes to plan their art work and expanded their best idea. After planning, it roughly took 2 classes to create the "skeleton" of their sculpture (i want to note that if students wanted a cube, they made it themselves - no boxes or spheres provided!). Students then used modroc instead of papermache to plaster. Students used 2-3 classes to paint and add the finer details to their sculptures!

Prep Homes

Preps were inspired by Iggy from Iggy Peck Architect!

Iggy Peck is about a boy who has a passion for building things out of regular everyday items.

I wanted Preps to learn about  the element for form, so we created these lovely homes using old bags I found in the art room. We decorated our homes using some old stickers the office donated and cover paper. We filled the bags with paper from the recycling bins. Holy cuteness overload!

Yay for environmentally friendly art!
