Year 3 Final Landscape Pieces

Goodness, the Year 3s are blowing me away with their amazing art work. Students were inspired by the Kitchen Garden Program and lovely Mother Nature. This is a final piece to showcase everything that the students learned in Term 3. What unique pieces of art!

Key vocabulary: perspective, landscapes, horizon line, space, silhouettes, soft pastel, ink, watercolour pencils, blending, outlining)

Year 5 and 6 Pieces

Ohhh man, I realise that I haven't updated the blog in a while... I also realise that I haven't been taking too many pictures these days. Busy Busy Busy!!! Maybe subconsciously I am waiting for the big reveal at the art show in 4th term?!

Year 4 Value

Year 4s learned about adding value (light and dark areas) in their images to make it appear more 3D. They also learned a variety shading techniques including hatching, crosshatching, stippling and blending. Students were asked to have light areas, dark areas, smooth areas and textured areas in their art work. Students also learned how to create a cast shadow.

Are these not the most amazing pictures! Loads of talent at EPS!

*** Because of 2 public holidays and planning week etc, I only have 7/8 classes with the Year 4s so we have only completed 2 pieces this term (Op Art and Value).... Quality over quantity!!!

Prep Tinted Lines

Preps learned to use acrylic paint for the first time. Exciting and messy times!

Students found out what happens when white paint is mixed into a colour. Preps had fun taking turns mixing the their paint together.
