I came across this activity and thought it was a really good extension to our bas-relief lesson (Pictures are coming soon)
We looked at a few examples of Mola Art and then students drew their image on coloured paper. Students then cut out their image and glued it onto the complementary colour. Students then glued their image to a black piece of paper and added beautiful detail to their image and background. The most popular images were creatures, cats and owls.
Students learned about complementary colours, and refined their cutting and pasting skills as they were challenged them to create up to 4 layers by overlapping different coloured paper.
